The problem with posting every day just to say you did

Consistency doesn't mean volume. It means showing up reliably with something worth saying.

The "post every day" advice made sense when reach was purely chronological and frequency meant visibility. But that's not how any major platform works anymore. Algorithms now prioritise relevance, engagement signals, and content quality, not how many times you posted this week.

What I see when brands force daily content is a slow erosion of quality. Filler posts to hit a number. Captions that say nothing. Content that exists to tick a box rather than serve an audience. And audiences notice, even if they can't articulate why they've stopped engaging, they have.

Three posts a week that are genuinely good will outperform seven that are mediocre. Every single time.

Consistency is about rhythm, not frequency. It's about your audience knowing what to expect from you. Your perspective, your voice, your value.

Post when you have something worth posting. Build a content engine that prioritises quality, not a calendar that rewards output. Create content that your users actually want to engage with, only then is when you will start to grow.

Presence without purpose is just noise.
